A Dream Job

Another busy week, another blog.

Following on from my Men's Style Guide going live on iTunes, we launched my little project properly last Wednesday at The Criterion Restaurant in Piccadilly. Not only is The Criterion one of the most beautiful restaurants in London, it also made the perfect venue for what turned out to be quite a party with fellow fashion industry people, press and friends coming together to celebrate. I was truly overwhelmed by the amount of people that turned up to support me and I'd like the chance to thank everybody that made the evening so special.

It was the launch party of The Session School last night. A friend Dani Guinsburg, along with Ben Cooke, Jennie Roberts and Jonathon Long have opened a school for people who have dreamt of working backstage at a fashion show, making up a model for a magazine shoot or styling the hair of a celebrity. Not only is the school situated in one of the most astonishing building/locations in London, it really is full of some of the most talented, experienced and truly lovely people. You can take a look here www.thesessionschool.com/index.html.

Away from fashion for a moment, I got to realise a dream at the beginning of this week. I am now test driving and writing about cars for GQ.COM! I will never get over the fact or be able to wipe the boyish silly grin off my face as people hand me the keys to a mixture of fantastic cars, past and present, including very fast, very expensive sports cars for me to drive at speed around a racetrack. I always expect a tap on the shoulder just before I'm about to get in the car from someone with a “really, who are you kidding?” look on their face, the same as I always feel just before walking onto a catwalk! I'm a lucky man.

Do you remember the girl ....

Big gig for Laura Whitmore with live P Diddy worldwide show....

Photo by Ian Gavan/Getty Images Europe

UP-and-coming TV star Laura Whitmore is set to take centre stage tomorrow night when she hosts an MTV concert in Glasgow which will be broadcast in 161 countries around the world.
The Diary can reveal how the Bray beauty has been lined up to present the televised MTV Crashes gig at the Fruitmarket in Glasgow, which will see hip-hop artist P Diddy perform with his new group Dirty Money.
The show will mark Diddy's (aka Sean Combs) first concert in Britain in more than five years, after he had to cancel a UK tour three years ago when his co-star on the stage, Snoop Dogg was denied a visa. And Laura (25) admits she's very excited about being given the honour of interviewing the star.
"It's quite a big party taking place in Scotland with P Diddy so I'm looking forward to that. It should be good fun.
"November will also be a big month as I'll be heading to Madrid to cover the EMA's for a week.
"There's a couple of other big things in the pipeline as well, but I can't discuss them yet," she added.
Multi-talented Laura, who is dating hunky Dolce and Gabbana model David Gandy,(I told you here) also made her Irish DJing debut at the Plaza's Playhouse nightclub in Tallaght on Friday.

Question & Answer

Hello everyone, a few days ago I had a weird idea, I thought to create this post where you can comment via ask anything you know about David intresse.
Obviously intressant choose the questions and answer them, I ask you not to ask foolish things private because in no way are in contact with David and then.  I would not know how things are too personal in any way!

P.S. I recommend you keep an eye on the archives of the blog these days because I'm entering the new material.  Vi consiglio di tenere sott'occhio gli archivi del blog in questi giorni perchè stò inserendo del materiale inedito.

Five Minutes With: Male model David Gandy

David Gandy is widely regarded as one of the world's leading male models, having shot to fame after featuring in a Dolce & Gabbana campaign in 2007.
He spoke to Matt Stadlen about life in front of the camera, his top tips for looking good, what he'd have done if he wasn't a model and whose face he would like instead of his own.

We're use to seeing male supermodel David Gandy in Dolce&Gabbana ads, splashed across the pages of GQ and on the runways of Paris and Milan but seldom do we see him as the brains of the operation. In fact, we've never seen him as anything more than a hanger of sorts. Times are a changing, and he is using new media for an exciting venture that's all him.
"I've worked with some great stylists and creatives but realized that there's a lack of real fashion information for men," says Gandy. "The more I investigated, the more fashion faux pas I could see men making - including myself over the years!" His solution: his own Men's Style Guide Application for iPhones, iPads and iPods. It's a smart progression really; the guy has been in the fashion industry for years so he's bound to have learned a trick or two . . . or dozens. "I started to think about how I could share some of the things I've learnt that can really help to change the way you look for the better, and how to simplify the choices that men have." And although we have fashion magazines like GQ and Details, Gandy is looking to reach a more realistic demographic. "Where information was available, in the main it seemed to point men to expensive high fashion trends and off the runway looks which are wonderful, but not necessarily accessible to everyone."
The useful app is quite simple and offers how-to guides, information on what to wear, how to put looks together and advice on what styles look best on different body shapes, according to height and waist size. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. "It aims to help men interpret their fashion choices based on style icons of today and in history, as well as on utility and budget".
